There are many different opinions of what discipline is , however the easiest way to understand the meaning is to be self-directed which means you do the action on your own without someone telling you what to do or when to do it. How many times do you say to yourself…tonight when I get home I’m going to work on my business, When you get home you never seem to get around to it. Successful people simply do the things that unsuccessful people won’t do. Decide what time and which days you can work your business be clear on the amount of time you are willing to spend.

Now you have decided to dedicate time to your business look at what you are doing during that time…Do you just “put in time” or are you doing behaviors that are congruent with your business. Social media can be a great way to meet new people however the challenge is when you spend hours just chatting or watching the next video…Remember in any business you must be prospecting, selling and marketing. Keep track of your results, If what you’re doing is not working don’t be afraid to change your approach. There are many resources out there today to help you. If you are not sure what to do find someone who is successful in the business you’re in and model what they do.

Written Plan of Action

If it’s not written it’s not planned so write it down, Be specific there is power in clarity. Write down which day and how much time you have put aside to work the business. Example:Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm Saturday 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. During that time write out the vital behaviors required such as…Example: prospecting Tuesday ,Wednesday and Thursday 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Now you have prospects it’s time to close the sale…Example: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 8:00 pm until 8:30 pm Saturday 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Marketing is another important element of business so don’t forget to schedule some time for that. Example:Marketing Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 pm until 9:00 pm Saturday 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

 

Although there are many more details you’ll need to add to your business to keep it growing. This is the foundation that keeps you on track for success.
