Everything Is Not a Priority

Everything Is Not a Priority

We’ve all heard about time management at some point in our lives, focus on what is a priority and work your plan, the issue is that to-do-list becomes longer and longer. In fact no matter how many things we write down often times we stress if everything does not get done…Sound familiar? If we wrote it down we must get it done…Truth is not everything needs to get finished everyday, it would be almost impossible to complete each task day in and day out. Instead before you end up stressed out focus on the high-priority items, complete them first, if there’s enough time work in the remainder. If you find there’s not enough time to finish those last few tasks, write them in as high-priority items for the next day. Today we’ve been trained to become efficient in the work place which is a good thing for business, however often time can also lead to disappointment, extended work day, little time throughout the day to have a clear thought. We must re-train our brains to believe that it’s ok to not finish everything on the daily list. A new way of thinking as well as new habits. This can aid in our personal growth leading to more productive day. It can also be applied to our personal life. In today’s always on society it can be very easy to find yourself connected to work related issues. We all own smart phones, access to email, phone, text message and many forms of communication. People find themselves working long hours to complete work only go home and answer a few emails,...
“Health Is Wealth”

“Health Is Wealth”

Have you ever heard “Health Is Wealth” like most people we’ve heard that quite a bit over the years, which means no matter how much money you have or earn it means nothing if you have poor health. Health issues plague our country, it doesn’t matter if your a man or a woman both share health related issues. High blood pressure, obesity, heart disease, high cholesterol just to name a few. People are suffering from many health related issues some are related to what we eat as well as a lack of exercise. What’s the point of working extra hours each day to earn more money only to not be able to enjoy life because of poor health! Think about it if you were to have as much money as you wanted however your current health did not allow for you to travel and enjoy life, how would that make you feel? Health is Wealth, over the years we’ve all heard that same statement yet do we understand the meaning? Over the years I’ve come across many people with little money but they kept their health in check, they were some of the happiest people you’d ever want to meet, not a care in the world. They had the ability to go and do what ever they wanted, if more money was an issue they would work a bit harder, but keep an eye on how they were feeling along the way. A daily exercise routine was still part of their life. Another group of folks I’d became friends with had a different approach, work came first they’d worry...
The Secret of Communication

The Secret of Communication

It is quite clear today having a conversation with another person can be a challenge, have you ever been in the middle of a sentence and the other person’s phone is making some sort of a noise? Could be a call, text email, notification of a post on social media of some other annoying noise coming from that devise. We’ve moved away from a one on one conversation and into a new way of connecting with people. No question we all feel frustrated when we are in the middle of a word and the other person looks at their phone. I’ve done that also, human mistake. Yet as annoying as it is we somehow tolerate this behavior every day. Like there’s something so important that’s going to happen in the next five minutes. We forget the impact this has in our ability to actually hear what the other person is trying to say to us. Often times they become upset and never completely explain what’s on their mind. What’s worse we tend to never ask questions of respond back right away, that phone is ready to tell us a secret right? Even if we don’t look at our phone down deep we’re wondering who is trying to get a hold of us. We all have a common need which is to be heard with the understanding of what our issue is. Even if they don’t always agree with you, that fact they listened is what we all seek. Over the years I’ve been blessed to have been exposed to some great people who understand the importance of listening. Doesn’t...
